  • OccupyLA_Oct635
Occupy LA has over 400 people in a tent city on the steps of LA City Hall. Like the protest towns that sprung up after the Great Depression and the Civil War, they are there to press the case that the people are being ripped off - by the banks that now take back the homes they gave mortgages for, by Wall Street who rakes in billions while unemployment stays hight, by the corporations which have record profits while they hoard cash and only create jobs overseas while paying no or very little US taxes.

By 2015, more than 15.5 million Americans 65 and older will live in communities where public transportation service is poor or non-existent. That number is expected to continue to grow rapidly as the baby boom generation “ages in place” in suburbs and exurbs with few mobility options for those who do not drive. The report, Aging in Place, Stuck without Options, ranks metro areas by the percentage of seniors with poor access to public transportation, now and in the coming years, and presents other data on aging and transportation.

it is not fair or right that anyone would take away one of the only wholesome acts and wholesome events left in Orange county! If a good community and neighborhood is desired then one needs a good family oriented background. The OC fairgrounds provide just that. It is a place for family's to gather and unite. A safe place for both neighbors and friends alike to share a common interest. If this area is denied by society as a common met-tinning ground, then Costa mesa truly has nothing left. From the bottom of my heart i hope that we can pull together and establish a peaceful place for our children to grow up. If for nothing else i could only dream that our children and grand children experience the same life enriching activities that the fair grounds has provided our generation!
