After-school programs offered at Iglesia Park offered by the Aliso Viejo Boys and Girls Club and programs offered by the Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center got a $48,000 boost thru the efforts of golfers at the 6th Annual Aliso Viejo Community Cup on June 5, 2009.
The annual golf tournament was held at the Aliso Viejo Country Club. City officials, local business owners, residents and many other golfers contributed to the success of the tournament as they enjoyed their rounds of golf.
The Aliso Viejo Country Club team took home first-place honors and was awarded the "Perpetual Trophy." Since 2004, the name of the winning team is inscribed on the trophy. The cup is prominently displayed at City Hall as a tribute to the winning team and the sponsors who contribute so generously to the success of community programs in Aliso Viejo.
Robert Bunyan, president of the Aliso Viejo Community Foundation presented the city with the check. He is pictured above with Mayor Donald Garcia and Council Member Carmen Cave, who has served as the Community Cup Chair since the beginning of the tournament.
