The Hispanic population in the United States is diverse, with the five largest self-identified groups being Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Salvadoran and Dominican. Each group has distinct demographic traits and tend to live within different areas of the United States.
The Pew Hispanic Center, a Pew Research Center Project, has compiled valuable demographic data - language, marriage, children, income, education, homeownership - for the five largest groups (Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Salvadoran, and Dominican.)
