A team from the Orange County Fairgrounds Preservation Society, which sponsors the Derail the Sale site, is in Sacramento this week meeting with members of the Assembly and Senate and Governor's staff about stopping the sale of the Orange County Fairgrounds.
What the team is hearing is that the Governor and Legislature needs to hear from more people to get the sale stopped. If the Fairgrounds is sold, we're not sure what will be put up for sale next.
Please tell your electeds that there is no safe way to sell the Orange County Fairgrounds. Anyone who buys the property is not going to want to keep it as a Fairgrounds - they will change it into a shopping mall, an entertainment complex, or a sea of tract homes. Selling off property to pay the bills benefits no one.
Send a fax today and visit one of the local field offices to get the message out that There is No Safe Sale of the Fairgrounds.
